A New Flag

Geary has wanted to put up a flag pole since the boys left, and finally on Monday he got the American flag put up. At the bottom, you can see that he wrote in the cement "TO HONOR CHRIS AND BEN". On another flag pole we have the Army Flag.
I still need to take a pic of the American flag at church, Pastor Rick says that it wont come down until the boys come home.

HURRAY for DOLLYWOOD

Thought I'd share our weekend with everyone. Saturday morning (early, very early) Geary and I started for Pigeon Forge. His company picnic was held at Dollywood, and then they treated us to dinner and a show at Dixie Stampede. We had never been to either, so it was quite a treat. We walked and took pics, and rode one whole water ride. Then after checking into the hotel, we headed for Dixie Stampede. What a treat that was. Good food, good show, good friends (Tom and Mistie), and all free...that was the best part. After staying all night we headed to our favorite destination anywhere....flea markets! We found lots of good deals, scrapbook stuff, food, jewelry...lol.
We really appreciated Gearys company going all out for their employees in these tough economic times. Not many companies treat their employees as well as they do, even in good times. Thanks, guys.
Then Monday we went to Pete's sisters house for an indoor picnic...it really rained a lot. But we had more fun, more food, and more good company.

The Lord is my light , and my salvation

The rain has finally stopped here in WV, for a day or two at least. Geary is weedweeding as Jacob and Caleb say. After feeling really bad all morning my medicine finally kicked in, and I'm trying to get caught up on a few things.
I got to chat with Ben on the computer this morning, that is always a blessing. Then as I was reading my Bible a few minutes ago, Chris got to call. He just landed in Iraq, and was trying to call everyone while he could. God is so good, and I just praise his name that we can communicate with the boys so much.
I picked my Bible back up after the conversation, and read the wrong Psalm. But, of course God knew what he was doing...

Palm 27
1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. 5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

7Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

9Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

11Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

What a fitting verse to fit the situation the boys are in. I guess God in his mercy was reassuring me that everything would be fine.I found a weekly plan plan and am going to start trying to follow it for my family. Today (Saturday) says:
Pray the Lord would protect them, guard their courses, Pray they would learn to manange time well. Proverbs 2:8, Eph. 5:15

my wonderful family at the lake

My wonderful family at the lake on Easter Day

rain, rain, go away

Rain, rain, go away...

Wow, what a bunch of rain we have had lately. Yesterday we woke up to the fact that the road was now the creek. Geary got to stay home all day, and I was just completely lazy. It did clear off enough yesterday evening for us to walk around the local lake 2 times. Then this morning it started pouring down again. So, of course, I took the day off and just read, and read. (my favorite thing to do).
Things have been a little busy lately, I've worked at the christian school several days and then Saturday taught two friends to make lye soap. Sarah had to leave, but Debbie stayed and we got to know each other better. What a fun day that was.
Over the weekend we had revival at our church. Sunday night Jesus was really in the house, one of our ladies jumped up and started testifying and crying and shouting. What a wonderful time it was. I think we are on the verge of revival, and how exciting it is. Like I said in my testimony I have never been in a REAL revival, lots of meetings, but no lasting effect. Praise the Lord for the singers, visitors, and especially the preacher that he sent us from Florida.
Brother Darrel was really enjoying the cool weather and the rain, however, he may have changed his mind yesterday morning, I'm not sure he made it to the airport because of the flooding.
We found out yesterday that we get to go to Dollywood with Geary's company the 23rd of the month, we are really excited. We've never been there, so now we need to save all spare money for the trip. God is so good!
I really praise God for the technology of today. Not many days go by that I don't get to chat with Ben (in Kuwait) on the computer, and today Chris (also in Kuwait) called. It's really been great that we are getting to keep in touch with them.
Miranda added to her blog and has some wonderful pics of flowers, and of some really good looking kids on there (ok I'm prejudiced). I think she has the best kids in the world.
